Tandbergs Radiofabrikk was founded by Vebjorn Tandberg in Oslo in 1933. The first produced radio model “Tommeliten” could be used only with headphones. It was later followed by “Corona” with a built-in speaker. In 1934 the first radio “Huldra” was launched, and a year later “Solvsuper”. They became the foundation of the company’s success. At the beginning of the 1950s, Tandberg began to produce reel-to-reel tape recorders and introduced a number of prominent ideas in this area. In the 1960s, the company created an improved registration technique that it then licensed to Akai. In 1960, the production of TV sets started. In 1972, Tandberg bought Radionette, a large Norwegian electronics company, and became even more concentrated on the TV market. Until 1976, TVs were the company’s main product, and factories employed 3,500 people. However, in the same year, a severe economic downturn disrupted the company’s operations. In 1978, the company became insolvent. The shareholders’ rebellion caused Vebj0rn Tandberg to lose control of the company and then commit suicide. In December, the company went bankrupt.<\/p>\n

Huldra 9 is a cult receiver from Tandberg, designed by Inger Johanne Fosheim at the turn of the 60s and 70s. This model is a tube hybrid, since the structure of power amplifier is based on transistors, and the preamplifier with tone control on tubes. As a result, Huldra 9 has a soft, warm sound, typical of tube amplifiers.<\/p>\n

Old paint coatings have been removed from the enclosure. Teak wood adds incredible charm to Huldra. The wood finish is Chinese oil produced from natural oils. The wood feels pleasant to the touch.<\/p>\n

This model was advertised by Tandberg as a receiver that guarantees 100% satisfaction to all customers.<\/p>\n
